Child Learning Help

My daughter takes piano and has weekly lessons. She then has a series of songs that she has to practise at home for the week and will play them to the teacher the following week.

I am not familiar with piano whatsoever.

This week, one of the songs she has to learn is Silent Night. She is unable to play the song as she states she doesn’t know the positions required, specifically she says the F position.

Is there any suggestions on how I can help her this week. Is there any website that shows a keyboard playing various songs so that she can see what keys are being pressed?

What is the best one to start with? Judo, Kick Boxing, Karate or another? I want my child to be able to defend herself in a street fight in case she is attacked. Just knowing one kind of traditional martial art is not effective enough during a street fight since anything goes when one is attacked. So I want my child to be able to successfully defend herself and put the attacker in the hospital for a LONG time. At what age and with what martial art form should she start? I heard the Judo is great to start with, then kick boxing and then later on Jiujutsu. I do appreciate the Traditional martial arts, but form my experience during hand to hand combat anything goes and it is best to know how to respond to various forms of fighting styles.

My daughter learned her ABCs at 18-20 months, and at 23 months can now recite them with little problem, and also knows how to count to 10. I’ve tried looking to see what the average age is for a child to learn their ABCs but to no avail. Is she early in learning them?

What will work? This child is repeating kindergarten, and still cannot consistently identify letters, sounds, or sight words. He’s getting special help, but I would like to know what methods are most successful for a young child learning to read.

I was wondering what some similarities and differences there were between learning the phonetic alphabet for a person who speaks english and a child who knows english learning to read. Also, do u think learning the phonetic alphabet is similar to a child from another country learning to read enlgish? Im just very interested in this topic.
The phonetic alphabet – used in spelling and readying. The one that includes the script E, the shwa, theta, and eth. It also is categorizes by where in the mouth a sound articulates from and what manner of articulation is used. Manners include Obstruents, Affricates, Fricatives, Sonorants, Liquids, and Glides.

My daughter attends a child development center on campus of the junior college I attend. The quality of care and the teachers is excellent, but I’m not sure what she should be doing education-wise at this age. The center utilizes the High/Scope curriculum, which from what I have learned, is child-directed. Does this mean the teachers do not lead lessons on basic things like numbers and letters? Obvioulsy, I will talk to the teachers at her center…I’m mainly curious what she is capapble of learning at this age?
