The Autism Research Institute, or ARI, is a huge worldwide network of parents and professionals who are concerned about the affects of this autistic disorder. The ARI’s data banks are filled with case information and case histories on over 40,000 children with an autistic disorder from around the world. It is this Institute’s hope to be able to bring awareness to the world about these autistic disorders and to fund more research so that one day there will be a cure.

The Autism Research Institute was founded by an international authority on autistic disorders; Doctor Bernard Rimland. He wrote a book called Infantile Autism, for which he became a prize winning author, based on his experiences with his autistic son. Doctor Rimland felt the need to let other individuals know about autistic disorders and how they affect children and their families, and he wanted to give hope to the parents of afflicted children. Doctor Rimland also was the chief technical advisor on the movie Rain Man, which was about an autistic individual.

The Institute publishes a quarterly newsletter that covers the different advances in the world of autistic disorders. These advances include those of a biomedical nature and those that refer to education. This Institute is a non-profit organization which relies on chartable contributions from those who understand and are concerned with the needs of individuals who have autism spectrum disorders. The ARI believes that its purpose is to help parents of autistic children who are overwhelmed by fear and grief and to motivate them to find help to cope with the situation.

The Autism Research Institute has been a world of help and information for individuals who have a child with an autistic disorder and works to give them hope for a brighter future for their children. Doctor Bernard Rimland felt the need for such an organization after he was faced with caring for an autistic child and knew that other parents could benefit from his research and information. Research is extremely important to helping individuals with this disorder to lead more normal and productive lives. Being able to pinpoint the disorder early is a huge step in learning how to deal with the disorder and helping the child to grow to their full potential.

As a  parent, it is going to be your job to make sure that your child is protected in any situation that they might be in. With the highest level of controls, the parents can set the specific sites that their kids can visit, and their children cannot visit any other sites without a password. That way a parent can control where their children are online.

It is also important for parents to monitor their children when they are online. Your child should not have a password that you don’t know, and you should be checking up on what they are doing. Some might consider this a violation of privacy, but you need to explain to your children that when it comes to the internet they cannot have privacy as children.  You can check up on what they are doing and make sure that they aren’t getting into a dangerous situation.

By far the most important part of protecting children online is to make sure that you are educating your children about the dangers of the internet. This is important because no matter how strict your parental controls are at home, and no matter how closely you guard what they are doing online, they are always going to have chances to be online without you around. At a friend’s house, or even at school, they might find ways to be on sites that you don’t want them to be on. So, you need to be sure that you teach them about how to be safe online.

Explain to them that anything they put online – pictures, words, phone numbers or addresses, is something that can be seen by everyone in the world. Talk to them about the dangers of talking to people online, and chatting with people they don’t know. Help them see what the dangers are, so that they can make good decisions about being online when you aren’t around. This will help you protect your children online in the greatest way, because it will help them get lifetime knowledge to continue to be safe.

S/he may make rudimentary stabs at speaking the language in the early stages. He/she copies his/her parents by listening and watching how they form sounds with their mouthes. Soon he/she will have the ability to say one or two words clearly. They may sound a bit strange but by watching and listening to the people around the child, he/she hones the pronunciation until it is right.  

Eventually, he/she will be able to speak simple sentences like ‘I want an orange’. When this stage arrives, he/she has everything needed to learn the language. Now his/her range of speaking will increase at an astonishing rate. 

He/she will learn new words and start using them. By interacting with people around him/her and the feedback to his/her comments the language skills will be improved. This will motivate him/her to understand more about the language. He/she will learn from his/her parents and other people around, even the TV (anyone for Sesame street ?) or radio. He/she will never stop learning new things about the language just like everyone else. 

To duplicate this method when learning a second language, you want to learn through immersion. The idea behind the immersion process is that you go to a country where the language is the native tongue so that you can learn.

This may scare the you know what out of you to begin with. You are spending time in a country where you can't speak the lingo, although you will probably have some simple words and understanding of the language. You will be doing a course in the country and learning the language as a child might learn his language.

You will have no alternatives but to listen to the language. If you want to speak you will have to speak in this language. all the strategies that a child uses to learn his native tongue will be in place for you.

Learning a complex skill set like a new language is not an easy process, however a genuine desire to communicate to other people can help you when the going gets tough. If you take a course in Italy then the support in your desire to learn will be greater.

Thus I would recommend that the best way to learn Italian is by simply living in Italy for a while and take an intensive course at the outset. Another tip is to stay in the country a little bit longer after the course so that you can practice outside of the formal lessons with locals. The best way to do this is to live there for a good time, preferably working or being intergrated into the community. This will do the trick to improve your understanding of the language. Carry on learning the language. You never stop learning.
