I have some hard data to report, but before I do let me provide a little background with you.  Not quite seven weeks ago I joined an content distribution service.  I don’t literally know the man who owns this service, but I honestly feel as if I do, because I have heard his voice on so many training videos about how to use the many products and services I have purchased from him.  I think I am responsible for paying off his last car.

Due to my many prior experiences with this boy genius (well, he’s not really that young), I was confident that the service would accomplish for me what it promised: An innovative way of distributing my articles.  Like any Internet marketer, I could always use more traffic, and is there anyone who isn’t on the look-out for a way to add external links pointed toward our virtual real estate?  My primary approach for achieving both of these goals is distributing content to article directories.

The table can be easily copied and pasted into a new article with similar key words. These key words then can be prioritized from highest to lowest and used as the keywords within the article submission site. By using the highlight tool, I can quickly determine what words are used within the article’s content.

* To the extent possible, write from your own experience. People look to the Internet to find answers to their questions from people who have actual experiences. Use the personal touch to begin to build a relationship and not to “sell” your product or service. Feel free to incorporate a bit of humor, if the subject matter allows it. Again, remember you want them to want more and click through to your website.

* When selecting the topic, determine the focus through researching the keyword popularity. If you have an exceptionally long article, break it into 2 or more shorter articles. I try to keep my articles between 400 and 800 words depending upon the topic or subject.

* After writing your article, review the content and begin to actively search for words or phrases that will increase the “hits” to your articles. Many times I believe I have an incredibly great title. By using a key word search, I can truly learn if the title is extraordinary or just plain ordinary. For example, in a recent article I had planned to use the phrase “bulls eye” in the title. As I am a very visual individual, this word conjured up an arrow hitting a target. Inventory overture revealed 3,190 searches for “bulls eye” while the word “target” had 1,814,599. My next action was to quickly change the title to maximize this key word

In MS Word, under the Edit Button, you can scroll down to Find and enter each key word to determine if that word or phrase is included within your article. With Search Engine Optimization (SEO), using the right amount of key words is also important. An overload of key words is just as harmful as not enough key words. My strategy is to identify 20 top key words for every article and incorporate them at least one time and not more than three times into the article..

Hopefully, these strategies will not only improve your Internet marketing through increased traffic to your web site, but will also improve the quality of your articles and potentially start to build those relationships with future customers or clients.

If you regularly submit your blog posts to social bookmarking sites it’s very easy to build a following, if someone likes your content then they will subscribe to your rss feed which means they will be back on a regular basis to read your posts. If they really like your posts then there is a high chance they will mention one of your articles on there site which will get you more traffic.

If you have already started to link build and draw traffic to your site then it would be a good idea to take a look at your Awstats, note all the sites that provide you traffic even if it is the odd one or two visitors.

With each site on your list spend a few minutes visiting it and see if there is anyway to increase the traffic from that site to yours, take a look at where your link is displayed on there site, the chances are if they are already linking to your site it should be easy enough to get another link.

I write a lot of articles so usually the sites that link to me are sending me traffic through my articles, if a particular site is sending me traffic and I won’t to increase it I could get in contact with the blog owner and provide them with more articles of the same quality. The blog owner should agree to that as I will be providing them with unique articles written to a high standard. Never use article rewriting software as you will never get a high quality rewritten article, if you won’t to speed up article writing then use voice software.

Try to visit all the sites that provide you traffic as it will be easy to get them to provide you with another link if they are already linking to you.

One of the top ways of increasing traffic and a very popular way with myself is article sharing. This is where a user like myself will write good content for a particular subjects and the blog that publishes my article will publish it along with three links back to my site. Many of these place free ads sites get tons of traffic. So if you get in the habit of posting to them regularly, you ads will certainly at least get seen, and you just might be a little shocked at the results.

Other than writing killer ad copy, there are no big secrets to making it work, but here are a few little tricks I use to maxmize my results:

First of all, if the forum allows it, I always make a “mega-thread.” This just means that I make a thread with one of my ads in it, and then I keep coming back and replying to that same thread over and over again with the same ad or a similar one. This of course pushes it to the top of the forum which is exactly where you want your ads to be. Not only that, it accumulates the most views and has the most replies as compared to the single ad threads, thus making it look really popular.

Another thing I do is always give my own threads a five-star rating which provides instant credibility.

And finally, I reply to others’ popular threads with my own ads, thus increasing my exposure.

I find that the two main keys to success when posting to free ads forums is to use great ad copy and to just be consistent and keep coming back to post my ads whenever I get the chance. Another cool thing is that there is forum posting software on the market that automates the whole process. Otherwise it can be a little boring and tedious. However, if you don’t want to use software to post ads, you can used tabs in your browser and keeps a bunch of tabs open with all of your forums.

Another thing I do is mix in posting ads to free classifieds sites along with the forum sites. Again a few of these classifieds sites also have big traffic. They might as well be looking at your advertisement.

There’s something else to consider here too. The backlinks from these classified sites and forums do count, at least a lttle bit anyway, when it comes to SEO. These are not necessarily the most high-value links you can get of course, but they sure beat having no backlinks when your site is new or you are just getting started. The more popular ones are always getting spidered by the search engines. So using anchors with good keywords for your links can’t hurt a bit.

One final thought I have: I haven’t tried this yet myself, but one were to get a profitable system down with the free advertising sites, it would then be possible to outsource the ad posting and really crank up the heat. There’s no shortage of low-cost virtual assistants and freelancers eager to this type of thing. Well it’s something that might be worth trying.
