Great Advise for Picking Wedding Music
Like a good movie soundtrack, your wedding music can help set the tone and contribute to the ambience of the cermony and reception. Although picking the correct music is a large task, understanding that this choice is one of the most important in planning will help keep you motivated to jump into this project.
If yours is a religious ceremony, keep in mind that there may be some restrictions and/or requirements for your choice of music. Speak with others involved in the wedding, and you’ll usually find that at least some adjustments can be made. Songs can usually be added to the stock ceremony songs with no problem whatsoever if the music you like is non-religious. This can be wedding reception songs for your wedding.
You can always have a civil ceremony if music choice is a dealbreaker for you and the place of worship refuses to accommodate your needs. When choosing to go this way, most decisions are totally up to you, which may mean a more individual and special ceremony for you and the people you invite. This is particularly true when allowing for the melodic accessory to your nuptials service.
You can choose the musical selection during a religious ceremony if you choose that option, which will give you a way to personalize the proceedings. A string quartet might be what you’re looking for. Perhaps you would rather have an organist. Be mindfull when choosing christian wedding music.
Having a harp share your soundtrack down the passageway is always a elegant and memorable means to start your new life as husband and partner. You may not have considered this, but its music is sure to make your guests feel relaxed and can help them enjoy their experience more. Ask a ask a another person for help choosing your mother son wedding dance songs.
If you and your spouse-to-be are given the opportunity to select your own music for a religious ceremony, make a shortlist of songs that you both enjoy or that have a particular significance to your relationship.
Nowadays you don’t have to include “Here Comes the Bride” – actually, it might appear tasteless and old-fashioned. Chose a song that is important to you and your mate before getting married. This adds personal flair to your ceremony, making it all the more intimate and special for you and your guests.
Following are suggestions for music to play at a ceremony held in church. Traditionally, music will play as the guests show up. Many couples go with gentle piano music for this part, or even hire a harpist.
A string quartet will be ideal for a more modern sound choice. One idea for the processional is to use quiet music to accompany the bridesmaids and follow that by the fanfare to announce the bride. During the unity candle ceremony, there is commonly some gentle music playing in the background, or even a song performed by a soloist.
It is very important to select a song that is not too long in length as this ceremony does not take long at all. Having a wedding in a church is a lovely experience; actually more lovely if the appropriate music is selected.
Step by Step Wedding Reception Guide
Probably the most memorable event of your life will be your wedding, so it stands to reason that the arrangements for it will be quite extensive and elaborate. This is all-encompassing, even extending to the details of the reception after the marriage service.
If you want to host a reception, take a look at how they generally work.
The typical reception begins soon after the wedding ceremony, maybe 15 minutes after the couple exits the auditorium. After arrival guests are greeted and seated. If you have a seating plan, this plan is followed. If not, the guests find their own seats, with whomever they’d like to sit.
Following this, ensure that the parents and other significant guests are seated at the head table.
After just about everyone is seated, you can ask the wedding party to stand in the receiving area. This should not include the primary sponsors or parents. They generally assemble together.Order of march is flower girls first, ring bearers second, secondary sponsors third, groomsmen accompanying the bridesmaids and finaly the best man with maid of honor.
Next, the newlyweds make their celebratory entrance, accompanied by party favors like confetti or bubbles.
After the couple enters, they should give recognition to the parents and main sponsors, letting them get up and signal with a wave. Then suggest to the couple begin the cake cutting ceremony. This is where, if you choose, the doves would be released, as well as a formal champagne toast.Afterward, the maid of honor leads a prayer of thanks. Then there is the meal, and the guests are invited to take pictures with the newlyweds. The next thing usually done is moving over to the table with all of the food and making sure everything is run smoothly here. There are multiple types of autumn wedding cakes.
The wedding singer starts performing once all the guest have ate their meal and are once again seated. Audio-visual presentations are viewed after this.
Next, the best man offers up a celebratory toast, followed by congratulatory speeches for the couple. You might only want a few of these. Otherwise, things might get more bogged down than you want. After this, the Father of the Bride dances along with the bride, and then the groom dances with his bride. This can be followed by other dances.
At the end of the celebration is the bouquet-tossing ceremony, where the bride throws her bouquet into a waiting group of single women; there is also a similar ceremony where the groom shoots a garter for the single men, which is called the garter cermony. Dont ignor inexpensive wedding favors or wedding party favors!
There are many ways to do this event. Many receptions eschew live performers for a DJ, for example, and many couples have started including a mother-son dance for the groom as well as the bride’s traditional dance with her father. By just changing things a small amount, you can achieve the middle ground by not boring your guests, but not upsetting them either.

Custom Wedding Invitations Involve Many Choices
Custom wedding invitations are an essential part of your wedding planning but are you prepared for all the choices you will need to make when creating yours. Make it easier on yourself when creating your invitations by being informed and prepared for these decisions.
Here are some things you will need to know:
- Budget – Before you begin your wedding invitation shopping, you may want to give some consideration as to how much you want to spend on them. Knowing your budget and the quantity you will be ordering will also help you figure out how much you can spend per invitation as well as help narrow down your choices. Also remember that response cards, reception cards, colored inks, return address printing, envelope lining, etc., will be extra costs if you choose any of these options and are not included in the invitation prices. Those prices are listed separately.
- Theme refers to the appearance of the invitation such as design, pictures, colors, embellishments, etc. Are there specific theme wedding invitations that will fit your wedding design? Themes can be flowers, beach or tropical, season of the year, specific colors, etc.
- Style relates more to the type of invitation. Will you have a simple wedding invitation card or a folded piece? Will it be made out of layers of paper attached together or will it include your photo? A seal and send style is an economical choice that has a response postcard attached and simply folds up into its own mailing piece. Growing in popularity, pocket wedding invitations are a more contemporary style. To fit the tone of your wedding, your chosen style may be modern, traditional, formal, or casual in appearance.
- Paper – This choice typically includes the size and color of your invitation paper. Contemporary wedding invitations can come in special sizes such as square and tea length. Keep in mind that larger sizes may require extra postage so you should check into that before making your final selection. Colored papers have also become plentiful. Another consideration is the use of recycled papers to be eco-friendly with your wedding invites.
- Verse Wording – There are many, many sample verses for custom wedding invitations or you can creatively write your own verse. Your choice of verse will depend on who is hosting your wedding – you and your fiance or your parents. Another decision will be where your reception information will be printed – either on your invitation if there is room or on a separate reception card.
- Lettering or Font Style – You will find there is an enormous selection of lettering styles from which to choose and the offerings will vary among printers. One suggestion is to use a style that will be easy to read for your guests. Simpler, less script fonts tend to be easier to read.
- Imprint Ink Color – Usually you are provided with several ink choices based on the invitation you choose. Keep in mind colored papers will affect how certain ink colors appear. Black ink is typically included in the invitation price with colored ink choices costing extra. Be sure to take notice of what color was printed on the sample as you may like how that color looks.
There are actually more things to consider as part of your custom wedding invitations ensemble but the items listed above pertain to the actual invitation itself. Other related choices involve extra insert pieces such as response cards, map cards, etc., as well as envelope options.

Ten Cost-Saving Ideas for Your Wedding
During any economic time, but most especially now, it’s good to pare down your wedding expenses as much as possible. The following ideas will aid you in your effort to keep costs down and keep more of your hard-earned dollars in your wallet.
1). Purchase flowers that are local and in-season. By using hydrangeas in your fall wedding, you run the risk of increasing your costs. Instead, visit your local flower market and select seasonal white Calla Lilies or deep red roses to form your bridal bouquets or table centerpieces.
2). Have your wedding favors double as your place cards or guest escort cards. Indicate the guest’s name and table assignment on a label or hang tag and attach it to the favor box or bag. Place the wedding favors / place cards on a central table at the entrance of the reception room. Guests will learn of their assigned seats as they pick up their unique wedding favors.
3). Avoid couture bridesmaids’ dresses and instead peruse through the clothing racks of popular national clothing retailers. By selecting a color and style that the bridesmaids can use after the wedding day, you’ll assure that they can prolong the use of the dress and thus get extra value from it. And if your bridemaids are spread out across the country, they’ll be grateful for the convenience you’ve given them by allowing them to shop locally.
4). Consider a Friday evening or Sunday day wedding. By having your wedding on those days, you can save loads of money.
5). Craft the wedding invitations yourself. Many discount stores now offer stylish wedding invitations, thank-you cards, and wedding ceremony programs that you can print yourself in the comfort of your own home. Purchasing a box of inexpensive embossed wedding invitations is now as easy as shopping for copy paper and staples.
6). Have several family and friends arrange your bridal bouquet, bridal party bouquets and boutonnieres as well as table centerpieces. A word of caution: to avoid wilting, make sure to arrange the flowers no later than the night before. If you have an eager and willing group of people who you trust and who understand your style, you can easily save hundreds of dollars by delegating these tasks.
7). If you know a friend or family member who has great interest in photography as a hobby, they may be willing to photograph your wedding for free.
8). Do not use an odd-shaped invitation which will increase your postage, use only standard shaped ones.
9). Your hair and makeup can be styled and applied by a family member or friend, or even by yourself.
10). Limit the size of your bridal party to family members and best of friends. Involve the others in other important tasks like passing out wedding ceremony programs or ushering guests to their seats at the ceremony.
Bride’s Big Day Ruined By Flaming Dress
Julie Turnbuck, 34 from Tiverton in Devon, England had the shock of her life last Saturday after her wedding dress caught fire and had to be removed at the altar to avoid burning her skin.
Julie’s marriage to Peter Huntington had been in planning for more than a year and cost somewhere in the region of £25,000. It was all set to be one of the most memorable days of their lives. She certainly got her wish as only minutes in the service at St Pauls Church her wedding dress was ignited by a nearby candle and quickly spread up her long train towards the body of the dress. Some helpers burnt their fingers when they attempted to rip the train from the main dress to halt the fire but were not successful.Peter, who was thinking on his feet, shouted at Julie to take the dress off and just seconds before it was a ball of flames, Julie had managed to wiggle free. The burning dress was extinguished using guest’s hats to bail water from the baptism bath and pouring it over the garment. The church pews were also at risk of catching alight at one point but the vicar poured water other them as well to stifle the heat.
Martha Wintbury was Julie’s grandmother who handed the dress down to her and her worn it herself when she married in 1931. The material was not safe at all as the dress has been designed and made before their were any fire-retardant standards in place for clothing. The head fire officer who dealt with the case pointed out that the dress was made from an unsafe flammable material like many others made around the time and warned others to check the suitability of a dress before accepting a hand-me-down. Julie only received minor burns but the fire officer pointed out how lucky she was. “once you get stuck in a piece of clothing that is alight, it is very difficult to remove and deep burns usually occur”. fortunately Julie had an under-dress on that was unscathed and saved her much embarrassment allowing her to make it to the after wedding reception venue
Peter who is a mechanic has bizarrely got experience in dealing with spontaneous combustion after he suffered a similar incident where his hair gel caught fire when he was working on a car. He was able to extinguish the flames but was left with some visible scaring. The couple are planning to reschedule the wedding for this summer and are looking into castle weddings. They say it will be a flammables free day.
